Hair is a unique means of expression: it’s relatively easy to dye, cut, or embellish with weave extensions, and given the products technologies and services available, the possibilities really are endless. That might explain why the average woman changes her hair style approximately 104 different times in their lifetime. And 44% of women change their hairstyle simply because they want a change.
In 2015, the hair salon industry saw its fair share of wacky and whimsical hair trends that took the social media world by storm. Soon enough, everywhere one turned, people were rocking these interesting, yet accessible hair styles.
Here are three of the trendiest hair styles of 2015 that don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon:
The Bun
While it sounds simple, this classic and timeless ‘do has hit the spotlight in a major way. From half-up top buns to rounded ballerina buns, this style is all the rage. To add body to hair and the bun itself, many are even opting for a weave or extensions to make their bun seem more voluminous. And this trend is not just for the ladies — the man bun is here, and it’s making ladies all over the world swoon.
Gray Hair
While 17% of women say they dye their hair to conceal grays, gray hair is no longer for the elderly and Cruella Deville. Rather, the youngest and most relevant of celebrities (can you say Rihanna?!) are rocking this daring hair trend. But be careful! This is not a trend to try at home. Instead, trust in the knowledge and experience of a stylist at a hair salon shop. This trend requires drastic bleaching and toning in order to remove any and all brassiness from the hair.
Glitter Roots
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale was originally seen rocking this simple style, and since then it has taken off in a huge way. This 90s inspired, whimsical style involves styling your grown out roots with glitter gel. To make the glitter gel, visit your local hair salon store for a clear gel and combine with a chunky craft glitter of choice. Then, paint it on your roots with a paintbrush. Many have been seen parting their hair into two pigtail buns for a complete 90s look, but the possibilities are really endless.
So what do you think of the trends sweeping the hair salon industry? Are you daring enough to rock these looks?
